Bourbonzola
So tonight I had a hankerin’ for a good burger. As luck would have it, I was near one of my favorite watering holes (Rock Bottom) which also happens to offer one of my favorite burgers, the “Bourbonzola Burger”. This burger is perfect for any one who loves something a little out of the ordinary. It’s served much like any other burger with your favorite side (I recommend skinny fries). Where things go a bit off the beaten path is in the toppings.
The toppings are few but the combination is quite delicious. We begin with crumbled blue cheese and add some thin and lightly crispy onion strings. Last but not least, is the Bourbonzola sauce. Don’t confuse this sauce with a BBQ sauce. Its more of a bourbon reduction which is much thinner than your typical BBQ sauce but still slightly thick. The resulting combination is something that is both a rich and savory and full of flavor. It pairs well with their seasonal Belgian Tripel which is currently on tap.
